A native of Boise, Idaho, Nathan was a nine-time state champion in track and cross country at Borah High School and was named as Idaho’s Gatorade Athlete of the Year five times.
As a freshman at the University of Washington, Nathan finished seventh in the final of the 1500m at the NCAA Championships, before going on to win the USATF U20 title at 1500m, earning him a spot to represent Team USA at the World U20 Championships in Calí, Colombia, where he finished fifth. The following year, Nathan took home both the PAC-12 title and the NCAA outdoor title at 1500m.
After finishing second in the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships, Nathan returned to the top of the podium in 2025, winning his second NCAA championships title at 1500m for the Washington Huskies.
Having turned professional, Nathan won his first senior US title at the 2026 USATF Indoor Championships, beating a stellar field in the men’s 1500m and earning a spot at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Poland.
