Inspired by Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce’s exploits at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Daryll Neita fell in love with athletics at the age of ten and the following year joined the Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers where she quickly developed into one of the UK’s most promising sprint talents. In 2014, Daryll won the U17 100m at the English Schools Championships and in 2015, placed fourth in the 100m at the European Junior Championships.
The following year saw Daryll’s breakout, as she finished second in the 100m at the British Olympic Trials at the age of 17, earning her a place on Team GB for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In Rio, Daryll won the bronze medal as a member of Great Britain’s 4x100m relay. Daryll earned more 4x100m relay medals at the 2017 World Championships in London (silver), the 2018 European Championships (gold), 2019 World Championships (silver) and 2020 Olympic Games (bronze), the last of which saw her qualify for her first individual senior championships final in the 100m.
In 2022, Daryll won the bronze medal in the 100m at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and anchored Team England to gold in the 4x100m. A year later, Daryll earned another bronze medal as a member of Team GB’s 4x100m relay at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
